About Us
We are a family owned and operated sustainable produce farm located on the outskirts of Wadsworth, Ohio. We started growing a small garden in the early 90's and over the past 26 years we have participated in many farmers' markets in Medina, Summit, and Wayne Counties. We currently farm about 5 acres of land, with several cold frames giving us the ability to considerably extend Ohio's natural growing season.
As growers, we feel a responsibility to help educate the public on the stark difference between fresh, local food, and that which could have came from the other side of the country, or even farther. Throughout the year we look forward to showing you what is truly in season, and how we make the most of that plentiful time!
Community Supported Agriculture
In 2007 we endeavored into our own version of Community Supported Agriculture. The consumer buys a share in the farm at the start of the season, and then shares in the weekly bounty. All. Season. Long.
CSA Information
A CSA, or Community Supported Agriculture, directly connects the farmer with his consumers. It revives a relationship that has slowly been lost over the last century. Unlike in the grocery store, every dollar you spend goes directly to the people who plant, care for, and harvest the food that you eat. This allows us to give extra attention to detail while raising your food. We harvest your produce share right before you pick it up to ensure it is as fresh and nutritious as possible. We strive to practice sustainable farming techniques to not only present you with the most natural food possible, but also to respect our natural resources. Soil health, natural pest management, and effective, natural weed control are always being monitored and improved upon.
In return for the value and convenience associated with a CSA share, we depend on our members to help us carry a small portion of the risks associated as well. Not every item gives us a bumper crop every year. Variables such as pests, temperature, and precipitation make every growing season a little bit different. In a way it just makes life more interesting.

Cost of a CSA Share
The cost of a CSA full share for the season is $675 + $36 work deposit (which is returned once a one time three hour work period is fulfilled). Our CSA half share is $375 + $36 work deposit (which is returned once a one time three hour work period is fulfilled). Our full CSA season runs for 18 weeks and our half CSA season runs for 9 weeks (every other week). We have 40 shares available. Shares are sold strictly on a first come, first serve basis. We are requiring one 3 hour shift for each share at any point in the season. (We have set CSA work days such as garlic, onion, or potato harvesting.) A deposit of $100 will hold your place with the balance due by the first pick up. A share is designed to feed approximately a family of four, as it will be about a half a bushel of produce per week containing 6 to 10 items. Additional produce is always for sale if you desire to can or freeze produce for the winter.
Do I get to work in the garden?
Absolutely! We require one 3 hour shift from each shareholder. Being involved on the farm gives you a chance to participate in the planting, growing, or harvesting process. You really don't want to miss this opportunity! Not to worry if you are unable to work in the garden, there are many other jobs in different processes that will suit you just fine!

We do not use any synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides. We focus our efforts on sustainable farming practices such as crop rotation, cover cropping, and using compost to renew the soil. We promote beneficial, native insects, and rely on them for a great deal of our pest control from year to year.
Honey Bees
We originally became interested in keeping bees to improve pollination for our produce. There is no doubt that they make a difference in our fruit and vegetable crops. The quicker and more thoroughly a plant is pollinated, the prettier, and more plentiful the produce will grow to be. Honey bees prove time and time again to be a critical link in the living world around us.
One of the other benefits we receive from the bees is, of course, the beautiful honey they produce. We care for our hives just as we care for our produce. Our honey is pure and raw (unpasteurized). It is taken straight from the hive after each honey flow, extracted, filtered, and bottled to retain all the beneficial qualities and flavors of each season. Honey will change with the seasons, having a range of colors and tastes.
